Louis John Bedel,
98 years old, died at Veteran's Community Living Center, Cincinnati, Ohio on February 18th, 2021.
Louis was born in 1922 to John and Anna Bedel of Star Route-Oldenburg, Indiana. One of ten children, Lou worked on his family farm growing up until he was drafted during WW2. Served in 82nd Airborne- infantry. P.F.C. Louis Bedel (rifleman) was wounded multiple times during European battles. ( Rhineland, Normandy, Naples- Foggia, Sicily) Received Purple Heart Oak Leaf Cluster for his service.
Upon returning from WW2, married Joan (Garnier) and started a family in Cincinnati, Ohio. God blessed Lou and Joan with seven beautiful children. After graduation from business school, Lou had a successful career as purchasing agent and latter business supplies sales contractor. Loving father, scout leader, and avid gardener. Active parish member of St. Lawrence Church most of his adult life in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Proceeded in death by his wife Joan, sons Robert (Jeannine) and Dennis and daughter Barbara (Rex). Survived by four sons, Richard (Peggy), Gerry (Maryanne),Greg (Melody),Christopher (Suzanne). Loving family includes twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Christian funeral mass to be held -10AM, Saturday, February 27th, at St. Lawrence Church. Cincinnati, Ohio. Masks are required. No prior visitation scheduled.
Family to plan Celebration of Life/Religious remembrance day forthcoming this spring.
