William “Bill” Sachs, 94, of Cincinnati, OH died peacefully on May 10, 2026 surrounded by family.

He leaves behind two loving daughters, Deanne Sachs Brandstetter and Susan Sachs Levine; four cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Billiot, Katie Brandstetter, Garrett Levine, and Ellie Levine; five great grandchildren; his adoring sister, Sandy Smith and his very special friend, Ann Bolino. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 53 years, Betty Lou Long Sachs.

Born on June 20, 1931 in Cheviot, he was loyal to the “westside” of Cincinnati his entire life – leaving only to attend The Ohio State University, where he earned a BA in business administration, and to serve in the army. Baseball was always his passion. He was a member of the 1947 American Legion National Championship baseball team and was inducted into the Western Hills Athletic Hall of Fame. At Ohio State he played four years at first base and earned All-Big Ten Honors. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi and at OSU where he met the love of his life Betty Lou “Lu” Long whom he married upon graduation.

His business career spanned over forty years and culminated with Bill serving as President of Clopay Corporation, based in Cincinnati. He was known for his warm handshake, friendly smile, and skill in closing the sale. Outside of work, he enjoyed tennis, golf, platform tennis, and traveling with friends and family. He served as President of the Western Hills Country Club Board of Trustees, was an Elder at Westwood First Presbyterian Church, and was also active in the Cheviot-Westwood Kiwanis.

A private family service will be held.
