Sonia "Toni" Martin, born on September 16, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio. A dedicated Licensed Optician and Ophthalmic Technician, Toni exemplified professionalism and care throughout her career, touching the lives of many with her expertise and kindness.
Toni was known for her loyal nature and strong beliefs, consistently standing by her convictions even when faced with challenges. Her spirituality brought her strength, guiding her through both joyous and difficult times. Family and friends cherished her for her warmth and stubbornness, characteristics that made her a vibrant presence in their lives.
An excellent cook, Toni delighted in hosting family gatherings with her favorite theme of "Rustic Italian Night," showcasing her culinary talents that will be fondly remembered. Her skills extended beyond the kitchen; Toni was an award-winning and talented quilter, a proud accomplishment that reflected her creativity and dedication to craftsmanship.
Toni is survived by her beloved husband, William "Bill" Martin; her daughter, Rachel (Michael) Bafaro; her sons, Nicholas (Michelle) Brown and Derek Brown; her granddaughters, Magnolia "Maggie" and Ophelia “FiFi”; and her brothers, Steve (Patricia) Zipoff, Russ Zipoff, and David (Marya) Zipoff. She is also remembered fondly by her nephews, Zach Zipoff, Josh (Kess) Zipoff, Andy Zipoff & her nieces, Sarah Zipoff and Suzanne Zipoff; her great niece, Sylvia; her brother-in-law, Steve (Linda) Martin; and her niece, Jamie (John Cruz) Martin.
Toni was preceded in death by her parents, Charles "Chuck" and Edna Zipoff, and her nephew, Kyle Martin.
Visitation will be held at the Norman Chapel at Spring Grove Cemetery located at 4521 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45232, on October 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM. The funeral service will be Livestreamed on the funeral home Facebook page. Click HERE to view. Toni's legacy of love, dedication, and artistry will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by family and friends alike, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
