Patricia Volz

Patricia Bruce Carroll Volz, aged 86, of Cincinnati, OH passed away on July 9, 2015 at home.  Pat was born on February 15, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Ashton Michael Carroll of New Orleans, LA and Evelyn Wenning Carroll.  She loved her family above all else; loved to cook and entertain; and enjoyed celebrating the holidays.

Pat was employed at Cincinnati Bell for many years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Westwood Women’s Club, Cincinnati Herb Society and Daughters of the American Revolution.  Pat remembered her early years in New Orleans and Memphis with great fondness, but returned to Cincinnati to attend Carson Elementary, Western Hills High School and University of Cincinnati.  Pat was active in Cincinnati’s The Drama Workshop as a past president, stage manager, actress and Cairo Kate recipient.  She was involved in the saving of Westwood Town Hall in the 1960’s.

Pre-deceased by her ex-husband, Anthony Glenn Volz; her daughter, Barbara Volz Smith of Athens, OH and her brother George Allen Carroll, of Washington DC.

Survived by children Michael Jon Volz, Janet Volz Ross, and Elizabeth Volz Smith; and grandchildren: Leah (Adam) Ramsey of Panama City, FL; Mark Volz of Columbus, OH; Meredith (David) Bortz of Columbus, OH; Allison Ross and Maxwell Smith of Cincinnati.
