Olga Byrne Fryer
Loving wife of deceased husband, Charles Wesley Fryer (Chuck) for nearly 57 years, sister of John W. Byrne III (Shirley) of Greenville, SC and proud Aunt of John IV (Carmela) of Downingtown, PA, Lisa Byrne Brown of Springfield, IL and David of Naples, FL, and Great-Aunt of six. Olga graduated from Miami University (BS) and Western Reserve University (MA) with post graduate work at Columbia University, University of Cincinnati, Xavier University and Indiana University.
A former educator, she taught at Ross Township, Bellevue, KY, Cleveland, and Cincinnati Public Schools where she became a supervisor before retiring over 30 years ago. Olga was born Jan 6, 1923 in Brooksville, KY, grew up in Bellevue, KY and lived most of her adult life after marriage in Cincinnati. She was an active member in numerous educational and social organizations, and was an honorary Kentucky Colonel.
She passed away peacefully on Nov 2, 2018. Arrangements are pending for a memorial service at the historic Covenant First Presbyterian Church in downtown Cincinnati where she was a member followed by the interment of her ashes in the family plot at the Johnsville, KY cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Olga’s name can be made to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra where she and Chuck were patrons for many years
