Nettie Young

YOUNG, Nettie (nee Edwards), greatly beloved wife, sweetheart and partner of 63 years to Philip C. Young, Jr. Nettie was born November 26, 1922, to Dora and Lafayette Edwards of Irving, KY, the youngest of eight children who graduated from Western Hills High School with the Class of 1942. Nettie's greatest joy was her love of her husband Phil, family and home. She lived her life a prime example of patience, kindness, gentleness, humbleness, loyalty and most of all love. Nettie passed peacefully away May 28, 2007, at the age of 84 surrounded by those she loved. Mother of Philip C. (Cheryl) Young, III, David M. (Lisa) Young, Susan (James) McGillicuddy of Okemos, MI, and Roger C. (Tamyra)Young. Nettie is preceded in death by son Philip C. Young III. Nettie leaves behind thirteen grandchildren: Michael R. (Heike) Young, of WolfRams-Eschenbach, Germany, Nicole (Eric) Garza, Brian P. (Karin) Young, Kara L. McGillicuddy of Manhattan, NY, Natalie (Mark) Baum, Kyler E. McGillicuddy of Brooklyn, KY, Renee D. Young, Ryan C. Young, Melissa E. Young, Nicholas P. Young, Todd Young, Tyler Young, Trevor Young and three great-grandchildren: Oliver and Aidan Young of WolfRams, Germany and Katie Garza. Memorial service Friday, 6 PM, at the Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, 2880 Boudinot Avenue at Queen City.
