Mary "Bettie" Walpole

Mary Bettie Walpole (née Ramey) was born on September 25, 1929 in Berry, Kentucky.

Preceded in death by parents Ella Duvall Ramey and Lindsay Henry Ramey and her husband of 65 years, Edward.  Her early life was difficult, as her mother succumbed to tuberculosis when she was less than 6 years old.  Her fraternal grandparents, Thomas and Lillie Ramey, were her family when her father moved to Covington to work during the Depression.  She moved to Covington to live with her Dad in 1942, and became a proud member of the Holmes High School class of 1947.  One of her crowning achievements was the 25+ years working for the federal government at NIOSH.

Survived by sons Michael (Sue), Edward (Tracy), Thomas (Chris Harmon), James, John (Melissa), David and Paul (Caddie). Also survived by 36 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.  All children were a treasure to her. There are also countless honorary kids and grandkids scattered across the west side who she loved dearly.
