Margaret Ann Joseph, lovingly known to many as Peggy, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on September 2, 1938, in Bristol, Pennsylvania, Peggy lived a life marked by devotion, precision, and warmth—a servant-hearted soul whose impact touched her family, community, and the countless lives she cared for as a nurse.

A proud graduate of Temple University’s Nursing program in 1959, Peggy carried her nursing degree with honor throughout a fulfilling career that included pivotal roles as an Operating Room Registered Nurse and Charge RN at Lower Bucks County Hospital in Pennsylvania. Her expertise and dedication also extended to nurturing the health and well-being of young minds as a School RN at Breyer School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and through her work with the Hamilton County Board of MRDD. Peggy’s time in the operating room was not just a job but a transformative life chapter that she recounted with vivid detail and pride. Around the family dinner table, she delighted in sharing fascinating stories of anatomy and medical care, speaking with such clarity and command, that her children still communicate in perfect biological terms—a testament to her meticulous nature, passion for teaching and sense of humor.

Peggy’s life was woven with beautiful threads of faith and creativity. A faithful Christian, she joyfully embraced opportunities to teach Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and AWANA, always welcoming others with an open heart and home. Her artistic spirit shone brightly through her painting and crafts, while her impeccable sense of style gave their family home a unique balance and warmth. She possessed a true joy for the simple pleasures: indulging in ice cream with loved ones and thrilling in the excitement of roller coasters—moments that brought laughter and lightness to her cherished family gatherings.

Christmas was Peggy’s season of love, where gift-giving became her special language of affection. Her family continues to bask in the glow of her example, treasuring the holiday traditions she held dear. Above all, Peggy’s proudest accomplishment was her family—a community of love and strength she nurtured through every act of kindness and detail.

Peggy’s legacy lives on through her devoted family and friends who walk this earth in her memory. She is deeply missed by her children Gary (Sandra) DeVoe, Glenn (Jennifer) DeVoe, and Andrea (Peter) Jackson; her beloved grandchildren Logan (Hannah) Jackson, Naomi (Joshua Mains) Jackson, Nathaniel (Emily) DeVoe; and her great-granddaughter Olivia DeVoe. She was also a cherished aunt to Sue Ellen Black and held in fond remembrance by her brother-in-law Samuel Black.

She joins in eternal peace her dear parents Florence Mae and Walter A. Garretson, her sister Dorothy Mae Black, and her niece Sandra Ames, who preceded her in death.

A visitation will be held on June 12, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM immediately followed by a funeral service beginning at 7:00 PM including a Nurse's Honor Guard Ceremony at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, located at 2880 Boudinot Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45238. All who knew Peggy are invited to gather to celebrate the life of a gentle, meticulous, and loving soul whose tender heart and steadfast faith left an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know her.

Peggy’s life was a gift of love and care—a beacon of hope and grace. Though she has departed this world, her spirit shines brightly in the hearts of those who carry her memory forward. Rest in peace, dear Peggy. You are forever loved.
