Kenneth "Ken" Allen Gallo

Ken Gallo, at the age of 69, passed away in the presence of family on September 5 th , 2024 at UC Medical Center. Ken is survived by his wife and love of his life, Margie as well as his children Mandy (Mike) Mullen, Linda (Ryan) Bittner, and Dan (Jackie) Gallo. His mother, Peggy Gallo and his brother’s Rick (Donna), Bruce (Debbie), Dean, and his sister Lynn (Darrell) Day. He was the beloved “Pop” to his grandchildren Eadie, Tony, and Lizzie Mullen; Kathryn Grace (Devyn) Soto, Kara and Michael Bittner; WA and KD Gallo. Ken was preceded in death by his father Richard Gallo.

Ken was born on April 12th 1955 to Peggy and Richard as the oldest of five. He was hardworking from a young age. In high school, he met his one true love, Margie (nee Clemens). Ken’s love of sports drove him to coach and umpire games. As he honed his skills at umpiring, he began assigning games and training new umpires and referees. Ken cared about his community, he volunteered with Lakota Sports Organization and helped create Walter J. Long sports complex in Liberty Township. Ken had a long corporate career in IT before retiring. In retirement, he continued to grow his passion work which was assigning and umpiring baseball and volleyball even traveling to Florida in Octobers to umpire at Roy Hobbs world series.

In recent years, Ken looked forward to time with his grandchildren especially spending a week together on family vacations to Isle of Palm, SC. He loved to say “enjoy the journey” and took so much pride in watching them grow up.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Friday September 13, 2024 from 11 AM to 1 PM, followed by a 1 PM Funeral Service at the Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home.                            (2880 Boudinot Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45238)
