Joseph E. Bashor

Joseph “Joe” Bashor
February 11, 1946 – May 26, 2024

Loving husband of Donna McCroskey Bashor and devoted father of Lora Gray, Adam and Evan Bashor. He was the “one of a kind” Father-In-Law to Todd Gray, Aimee Miller and Andrea Ohmer. His proudest moments were as grandfather to Noah and Ethan Gray and the Bashor kids Samuel, Ella, Cole and Sloane. Favorite brother of Susan (Wayne) Zavotka and uncle to Leann (Sean) Loomis, Kelly Zavotka, Celeste McCroskey and the late Karen Cowgill.

Joe graduated 1969 as an Industrial Engineer from The Ohio State University. He joined the family business, U. S. Drill Head Company, in 1974 where his employees and customers at USDH were very important to him.

Personal time centered around the family and home. He was a talented woodworker, youth soccer coach, Webelo den leader, Children’s International Summer Village fundraiser, parent to several foreign students, fan of fast cars, big dogs, wine tasting, traveling with family plus had a passion for cooking
comfort to gourmet meals. The headliner was always the Thanksgiving feast.

With his declining health, physical activities became limited. For fun he began making potholders. He made over 2000 which were donated to various non-profit organizations to be sold as their fundraiser.

A private Celebration of Life will be held mid-July for family.

In lieu of flowers, Joe would have liked donations be made to Camp Kesem. This is a non-profit summer camp for children of parents with cancer. Donations can be made through granddaughter Ella’s link.

Thank you for being a part of his life.
