Janice Katherine Linman, “Jan”, was called to her heavenly Father on October 9, 2025 after losing her courageous battle against a highly aggressive form of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). She passed in the loving presence of her husband of over 42 years and family members.
She was the eldest daughter of Louis and Jeanne Trippel and was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1949. She grew up in the Western Hills portion of Cincinnati attending Our Lady of Lourdes elementary school and graduating from Mother of Mercy High School in 1968. Upon graduation she went to work for AT&T which continued for several years until the birth of her children, Michael Thomas Flynn, Jr. and Karen Louise Flynn in 1974 and 1977 respectively. In the 1980’s she met and ultimately married Elmer (Kelly) Linman with whom she shared the remainder of her life. During the next 42+ happy years that the couple were inseparable they jointly shared the joy of raising and interacting with all of their children, the ambition of building a real estate investment business, the fun of boating and marina life on the Ohio River for over 25 years with many of their closest friends and especially the joy of traveling and cruising the world to places they had both only dreamed of when growing up.
When Kelly retired from The Procter & Gamble Company in 2000 Jan and Kelly moved to a home on a canal on Marco Island, Florida to continue their love of boating and fishing and to totally enjoy what they believed to be the most fantastic retirement anyone could possibly ask for. Jan loved to socialize, dance, play cards, dine out with friends and to be recognized by local musicians. She also enjoyed all of the local boating and fishing activities and during her many years on Marco Island was a member of the Marco Island Yacht Club, the Marco Island Country Club, The Marco Island Center for the Arts , the Marco Island Historical Society and the Marco Island Police Foundation. Jan truly loved her life and the many friends she made during their 25 years on Marco Island. Her happy demeanor and bubbly personality will be sorely missed by by family and friends alike
Jan is survived by her husband Kelly Linman, her son Michael Thomas Flynn, Jr. her daughter-in-law, Sarah Black, her grandchildren Aidan Flynn and Keely Flynn, her step grandchildren Kayla Black and Jacob Black, her daughter, Karen Louise Burke, her son-in-law, Joel Burke, her grandson Nolan Burke, her stepson Scott Kelly Linman, her stepdaughter Nicole Suzanne (Linman) Hogan and her sister Patti Leisure and husband Michael Leisure.
