Heath Alan Daniel McDonald

Heath McDonald, age 53, passed away Friday September 30th after an inspirational and courageous battle with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer.

He was a beloved and devoted husband to his wife of 26 years Julie (Pyle).  He was an extremely proud father of Brooke, currently enrolled in Wright State College Nursing program and Jerry Lee III,( Trey), currently serving our country in the Navy on the USS Boxer San Diego, CA.

Born to Jerry Lee McDonald and Patricia Ann Kellough on February 13,1969 in Chillicothe, Ohio.  Preceded in death brother Jerry Lee McDonald, II. Grant and Betty McDonald (grandparents), Homer and Gladis Kellough (grandparents) and lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He valued family above all else and was very proud of his grandfathers service in World War II and his fathers military service.  Heath was very patriotic and understood the sacrifices made for our freedoms.

Heath graduated for Unioto High School in 1987 and the Hocking College Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy

He was a very passionate, outspoken man who always tried to do the right thing and never backed down from a challenge.  Loved by most who got to know him for his integrity, loyalty, mentorship, honesty, courage, and strength.  Heath had a great sense of humor and could capture a crowd with his story-telling (often was told he should write a book).

Heath was one of a kind and will truly be missed by all that knew him.  He documented his cancer journey on FaceBook (when he wasnt in FB jail) and most recently posted videos on his youtube channel so his loved ones could always be able to hear his voice.  He had long talks with God and we know he is now in a better place free from any suffering.

Heath was a proud Eagle Scout and former law enforcement (which was his dream job).  He loved helping people and was that true friend you could always count on.  He really appreciated his current employer Norwood Medical for their support, as he worked as a Machinist during most of his cancer treatments.

Heath was an outdoor enthusiast who loved to hunt and dedicated his time to mentoring youth.  He was the State of Ohio Conservation Coordinator for S3DA Archery Program.  Heath and his wife created Young Guns Archery, LLC and Young Guns University 501c3 to promote and help youth in archery & bow hunting.  He was an Ohio Hunter Educator; along with volunteering as a hunter team leader in the Dayton Metro Parks controlled bow hunting program, which helps control the deer population.  Heath was a proud coach of Young Guns Archery team and graduated his fist senior last year with a full ride college scholarship.  He valued all his connections he made through archery and considered them his archery family.

Heath was also an avid Second Amendment supporter.  He enjoyed competing in Glock and Cowboy action shooting competitions; along with gun hunting.  Heath also enjoyed Jeep rides and muscle cars.  During his younger days, he was an avid drag racer and loved driving his 1980 Malibu down the track.  Heaths favorite car was his 1969 Camaro Z28.  He liked fixing up old cars and always had a project he was working on.  His 1964 Willys pickup was his most recent project and he was collecting parts to put together a matching 1964 Willys Jeep for a matching pair.  His favorite saying when working on any car was make sure people know you were in there (fix everything right)
