Guy Matthew Warman

Guy Matthew Warman from Middletown, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023, after a tenacious—yet graceful— fight against melanoma. He was 54 years young. Guy was born in Cincinnati on November 24, 1968. He was a devoted, intentional father to daughter India Warman (19), a loving brother to sisters Sherriann (David) Admire and Amy (Jeffrey) Bischoff, and an endlessly-committed fiancé to Jennifer Brinkman. He is preceded in death by his father, Bradley Warman, and his mother Joyce (Ficke) Warman. Guy is the proud stepson to Janet (Larry) Warman.  "Uncle Guy" will also be dearly missed by his five nieces and nephews, including Bradley (26), Rachel (24), Kyle (24), Camden (21) and Chloe (15) ...as well as a great uncle to JT (3) and Wilder (1). Guy will also be forever missed by what would have been his future stepdaughter London Brinkman (22) and stepson Beck Brinkman (19).

Guy lived his life with intellect, passion, positivity, wit, conviction, and an amazing work ethic. He also strived to learn from his mistakes, better himself through new challenges and even take on new zip codes after college (e.g. Denver and Los Angeles). His employer, Cincinnati Bell/altafiber, where he called home for nearly 20 years in sales as an Account Manager, saw these traits firsthand.  Guy's latest promotion in Fall '22 had him poised to take a business line to the next level of sales success through his strategic vision, patience and collaborative skills. Early indicators show he was poised to do a stellar job. Both co-workers and clients will miss him.

Forever a lover of experiences, Guy and his daughter had some of their best moments while vacationing to Disney. Multiple trips to Orlando had them bonding during the long lines, enjoying well-awaited dinners at Epcot, or taking in the nighttime fireworks. He loved to see India happy. And Disney did just that. It still does. (He pounded pavement on those hot park days like an 18-yr old boy. Even after being diagnosed with cancer and knee-deep in immunotherapy.) Guy's growing love of international travel would find him in Costa Rica multiple times with Jennifer…and one in particular as a future blended family with India, London and Beck.  This country truly brought out Guy's love of nature (Arenal rainforests), fine cuisine (La Luna in Nosara) and being one with the Ticos (have SUV will travel).  But mostly, Costa Rica surfaced his love of new experiences...whether it was spotting a Scarlet Macaw in Corcovado, chuckling at India falling out of a whitewater raft (don't worry, she was ok), or chatting with a VRBO owner about their mutual love of landscaping. #puravida

As an uncle, Guy adored watching all his nieces and nephews grow — always asking about their lives, cheering on their latest accomplishments and making them feel loved just for being them. Because they were. Future mother-in-law and father-in-law Ken and Judy Ingram also felt Guy's love. There is a gaping hole in their hearts now.

Passionate about music, Guy adored everything from The Brian Jonestown Massacre to The Dandy Warhols to Widespread Panic to Broadway musicals. Even the boyband Why Don’t We, thanks to India. He loved live shows…especially small venues. An encore trip to see Les Miz last January gave Guy’s heart another chance to soar & plummet when Jean Valjean and Fantine hit the stage. Guy never turned away a chance to FEEL...and his love of music fueled those feelings. Many family members and friends have their own special experiences with Guy that centered around music.  His favorite songs will echo throughout his Celebration of Life. Just the way he wanted.

On the couple’s front, few men could ever match Guy’s love, charisma, overt & covert gestures, and communication when it came to his relationship with Jennifer.  He never wanted cancer to define them – nor kill their spirits. So it never did. Guy passed away at their home – with Jennifer by his side and surrounded by a cozy backyard & landscaping that he designed last year. It was there that countless conversations about politics, kids, work successes & challenges, music lyrics, their air-fryer salmon, upcoming trips, and the voracious squirrels abounded.  He was also surrounded by the love of their rescue dog, Bailey. There was never a dull moment with Bailey around. But there was always unconditional love.

Always the bestower of advice, Guy thrived on building into family and friends. He had a unique ability to listen, know when to be silent vs share, and bestow either comforting or tough-love advice — depending on what life was calling for.  Regardless of the flavor, Guy made an indelible mark on his daughter, fiancé, family and friends through his word choices.  We are better through those words.

In short, Guy had an amazing ability to bring energy into a room and make people feel interesting, respected and appreciated. When he left this Earth and put two steps firmly in Heaven, he should have 0% regrets in how he lived his life.
