Eugene "Gene the Barber" Gabbard

Eugene Gabbard (Gene the Barber).

Beloved husband of Reta Gabbard (Thorpe) of 68 years. Loving father of Keith Gabbard. Cherish grandfather of Jessica Gabbard. Caring son of the late Betty and the late Mike Gabbard of Jackson, KY. Brother of Phillip (Clara) Grace South of Jackson, KY. Son-in-law of Cora and John Thorpe of Beattyville, KY.

Gene owned and ran Gene’s Barber Shop in Cheviot, Ohio for 42 years. He was a Mason for 60 years. He was a hunter, fisherman, golfer and a friend to everyone. But most of all he was a Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Son. He belong to Westwood Cheviot Christian Church of Christ, later called Whitewater crossing Christian Church for 61 years.

Passed away at home on July 30, 2022. He was 92 years old.

At his request there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date. He will be cremated and his ashes will be taken to Beattyville to be buried in the Thorpe family plot to rest.
