Emily C. Allen was born Emily Sevilla Cisne in Cisne, Illinois on July 19, 1912 to Allen T. Cisne, and Anna T. Cisne, Emily was educated as a secretary at Lockyear Business College and took a position at the Farmer's Home Bureau in Grayville, Illinois, where she met Kermit B. Allen. They married on October 26, 1941 and remained married until his death in 1994. In 1950 they moved from Lawrenceville, IL to Cincinnati, OH where Kermit took a position with the Internal Revenue Service. She was active at Westminster Presbyterian Church and PTA. She worked as a secretary at the University of Cincinnati, and the Cincinnati City Gospel Mission. In recent years she was living independently at Llanfair Retirement Community where she volunteered as senior librarian at the Larchmont library and loved reading books and playing Bridge. She is survived by her two children: Michael Allen, of Mansfield, OH,. and Carolyn Allen Feigh and her husband, Gregory E. Feigh of Houston, TX; her grandchildren: Anna C. Amundson and her husband Matthew, of Denver. CO, Scott C. Feigh, of Austin, TX, Joel G. Allen, of Denver, CO, Nicholas W. Allen and his wife, Heidi, of Wooster, OH and Grace E. Feigh of Los Angeles, Ca.; her great grandchildren, Emily C. Amundson and Jeffrey W. Amundson of Denver, CO, and her nephews Steven Fearn of Silverton, CO., Bill Cisne, of Louisville, ILL. and great nephew, Benjamin Fearn. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Hugh Allen Cisne, her sister Virginia Anne Fearn, and her husband, Kermit. Services will be at the St. Johns Westminster Union Church, 1085 Neeb Road, Cincinnati, July 23, at 2:00 p.m., preceded by visitation at 1:00 p.m. A reception will be held at Llanfair Retirement Community at 4 pm. Interment will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, July, 25th at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Please send any memorial contributions to St.John's Westminster Union Church.
