HENLEIN

Edith (nee Hunsicker), loving wife of the late Ralph Henlein, sister of the late Ruth (Charles) Richert, Thelma (Charles) Kochman and the late Arthur (Betty) Hunsicker and the late Carl (Mary Ann) Hunsicker, aunt of Keith Hunsicker, Dwight (Carolyn) Hunsicker and Ann (Mike) Edwards, great aunt of Adam (Nicole) Hunsicker and Laura (Tyler) Allan, and special aunt to Gus (Barbara) Juengling.

Edith was a graduate of Western Hills High School, University of Cincinnati, and Miami of Ohio. After receiving her degree in Education she began teaching at Liberty Township for 1 year. She continued her teaching career at Delhi Schools and became Supervisor when Delhi School became part of Oak Hills School District.

From 1961-66 she was the first Supervisor in the Oak Hills School District. As primary Supervisor, Edith was instrumental in organizing the Special Education program in 1962.

Edith received a B.S. in Education at the University of Cincinnati and a Master’s degree in Elementary School Supervision and Administration from Miami of Ohio. From 1966 until her retirement, Edith served as Assistant Principal at John Foster Dulles School in the Oak Hills School District.

Edith has served as an officer of the Hamilton County branch of the Association for Childhood Education and the Primary Division of the Southwestern Ohio Teachers Association. She represented Oak Hills School District on the Hamilton County Curriculum Council for 5 years and also served as a committee member for the Hamilton County Council for Retarded Children’s Association. Edith was also a member of OEA, Kappa Delta Pi honorary education society and Alpha Delta Pi social sorority. Having lived in Delhi all her life she was also a charter member of the Delhi Historical Society.

Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, January 26th, 2016 at Dalbert, Woodruff and Isenogle Funeral Home, 2880 Boudinot Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45238; with services to follow at 1pm, at the funeral home.
