Dorothy Selma Ruby

Dorothy S. “Dot” Ruby, (nee Schuster), passed peacefully on October 31, 2016, she was 94. 

Dorothy was born on August 24, 1922 to George and Lillie Schuster.  Dot was the 6th child and had 3 sisters and 2 brothers.  She grew up and loved living on the farm.  Dorothy graduated from Western Hills High School.  While working at Kroger, she met her husband Bob & married on November 23, 1946. 

She is the loving mother of Susan Ruby, Chris Ruby and the late Robin (Lindsay) Smallidge and the late Diane Dunham.  Cherished grandmother of David (Sandra) Fox, Gregory (Angela) Fox, Todd Fox, Tricia (Alan) Browning, Jason Dunham, Matthew (Anna) Dunham and Melissa Rice.  Dear great-grandmother of Shyla, Brian, Soren, John, Patrick, Lauren, Ruby, Charley, Reece, Lilly and Ethan & great-great grandmother of Kayden.

Dorothy loved to cook, work in her garden and cheer on the UC Bearcats and the Cincinnati Reds.  After raising her children, she worked at Macys for many years.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation Tuesday November 8th from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 11:30 AM at the Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home.
