Thelma J. Murray

Thelma J. Murray, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at a small caregiving home in Williamstown, Kentucky.  She was born on a farm in Milan, Dearborn County, Indiana, on September 26, 1925, to Beallie and Bernice (Bennett) Gillispie. Thelma and Leonard married on June 12, 1948 in North Bend, Ohio.   After raising 4 sons, Thelma, for over 20 years, was a sales representative for the Shaklee Corporation, enthusiastically promoting their natural products.

She was a convert to Catholicism, and expressed it with her faith and love to people around her.  Thelma was active in various ministries at Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Church, primarily with the Bereavement Committee. She enjoyed the many pilgrimages she went on with groups from church.

She loved gardening, pruning and clipping the many flowers around her South Rd. house for 65 years, until she moved to Magnolia Springs/KY in Jan., 2017.  Thelma had a generous heart for everyone her life touched, and was always there for her family and friends.  Left to remember her love are: Thelma’s children, Michael, David, and Leonard Jr; six grandchildren:  Sarah, Shannon, Patrick, Brian, Renee and Ryan, and ten great-grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her brother Beallie, her parents, her son, Patrick and her husband of 51 years, Leonard Sr.

Visitation 6 PM to 8 PM Thursday Evening March 21, 2019 at the Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, 2880 Boudinot Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45238.

Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Friday March 22, 2019 at Our lady of the Visitation Church, 3172 South Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45248.

We also would like to extend our gratitude to the Jule Knight home in Williamstown, KY who provided supportive care to Thelma in the final phase of her life focusing on comfort, since she left Magnolia Springs.
