Margaret Virginia Fischvogt

Margaret Virginia Fischvogt (nee Sample), passed peacefully to heaven on March 31, 2020 at the age of 98. Born in Muskogee, OK in 1922 Margaret spent most of her early years in Huston, TX.  There, while serving in the Navy as a supply clerk during WWII, she met Army Air Corp First Lieutenant Doyle Fischvogt. They married in 1946 and made their home in Cincinnati, where they raised three children. Over the years Margaret volunteered in various capacities at Grace Lutheran Church, Camp Fire Girls, and The Cincinnati Zoo. She enjoyed traveling, visiting nearly all 50 states, as well as taking jaunts to Canada and Africa. Hobbies included sewing, quilting, and gardening and she was an avid reader until the end of her life.

She is survived by children Carol (Peter) Halvorson, Donn (Kendra) Fischvogt, and daughter-in-law Shirley (Frey) Fischvogt; grandchildren Casey (Robt.) Bustle, Kim (Karl) Lauer, Jessica (Ryan) Yoder, Mark (Katie) Halvorson and Emily Fischvogt; great-grandchildren Lauren, Ellie and Kayton.

She was predeceased by husband Doyle Fischvogt, son Jim Fischvogt, and great-grandson R.P. Halvorson.

Graveside Services will be held at 12 PM on Monday April 6, 2020 at the River View Cemetery, 3635 E. Laughery Creek Rd., Aurora, IN 47001.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
