Earnest H. Cain

Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Laura Cain (nee Lanham). Loving father of Danny (Sue) Cain, Dennis (Joan) Cain, and Dale (Thelma) Cain. Cherished grandfather of Dan Cain Jr., Rachel (Brandon) Porter, and Jacob (Sarah) Cain. Adored great grandfather of Isaac Porter, Madalenne Porter, Brooklyn Porter, Jackson Cain, Hudson Cain, and Grayson Cain. Preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Lizzie Cain, his brother, Elmer Cain and several step siblings. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of dear friends.

Earnest served two and a half years in the United States Army (Infantry) during WWII and was sent to Germany toward the end of the war to replace a soldier that was killed in action. After the war, he was a guard at Nuremberg Prison where the war crime trials of the top Nazi officers were held. He was among the guards that transported the prisoners from their cell to the courthouse each day.

Passed away on Thursday March 12, 2020. Age 93 years.

A Visitation will take place on Friday March 20th from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by a 12 PM Funeral Service all at the House of Joy Church, 3220 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45225.
