Thomas A. Coppedge, a devoted husband, loving father, and respected auditor, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 25, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on July 22, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri, Thomas lived a life marked by dedication, humor, and heartfelt devotion to his family and faith.
A graduate of Xavier University, Thomas established a distinguished career spanning four decades as an auditor with Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company. Known for his sharp mind, wit, and hardworking nature, he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Beyond his professional achievements, Thomas took great pride in raising his family, a commitment that remained his proudest accomplishment throughout his life.
Thomas was a devout man who deeply loved God, and his faith was a cornerstone of his character. At home, he cherished his role as a devoted husband to Ruth Coppedge and a loving father to his four daughters: Kathy (Michael) Smith, Sandy (late Joe) Lipps, Sue (Joe) Rother, and Jenny (Rodney) Karr. His familial circle extended warmly to thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom felt the strength of his love and guidance.
His personality was enriched by a variety of interests that brought joy and balance to his life. Thomas enjoyed golf, cooking and baking, gardening, and painting, pursuits through which his creativity and enthusiasm were vividly expressed. He was known among friends for his appreciation of a good martini and his company, which was treasured by many who valued his wit and intelligence.
Among the many fond memories he created, his family recalled great vacations filled with cruises and trips to Gatlinburg, moments that encapsulated his spirit of adventure and love for family bonding. His many friends remember him not only for his lively mind but also for his generous and warm nature.
A visitation to honor Thomas’s memory will be held on April 30, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, located at 2880 Boudinot Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45238. Following the visitation, his funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Victory, 810 Neeb Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45233, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Thomas A. Coppedge’s legacy is one of steadfast devotion, heartfelt love, and exemplary commitment to his family and community. He leaves behind a world made better by his presence, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
