Our beautiful angel Teddy Virginia, was born asleep on 8/11/2026:
Our sweet Teddy, oh how your mom, dad, and sister love you more than you will ever know.
From finding out you were a girl with a teddy bear reveal in a tiny pink dress, to feeling your very first kicks. From watching your big sister kiss on Mom’s belly, waiting so patiently to meet you, to seeing your beautiful face on ultrasound for the first time, your perfect little nose and those chunky cheeks. We dreamed every single day about meeting you.
We gave you the name Teddy as it means “Gift from God,” and there couldn’t be a more perfect name for you. You were our gift. One we prayed so hard for, dreamt about, and loved with everything in us. You have brought a kind of love into our family that will never leave us.
There are so many things we wish we could have given you. So many moments we wish we could have experienced with you. So many memories we wish we had the chance to make. But there is one thing you will never have to wonder about - you were loved so deeply and endlessly. We would’ve given anything for more time.
God chose a lifetime of pain for us so that you would never have to know it. That is a weight we will willingly carry for you for the rest of time.
We are so grateful that we got to meet you. You were even more beautiful than we imagined. That curly brown hair, small round nose, and those small delicate hands that fit so well into ours. Holding you was everything to us. Your mommy and daddy didn’t want to let you go.
We will treasure every little moment that belonged to you. We will tell your story. We will say your name. We will make sure your sister grows up knowing exactly how loved she was by you and how loved you were by all of us.
You were loved by your mom and dad, Cory (Shannon) Godar nee O’Connor, your big sister Nelly, your grandparents John (Kathy) Godar and Mike (Chrisy) O’Connor, your aunts and uncles, Mitch (Emily) Godar, Jillian (Alex) Hils, Michael O'Connor, Colleen (Michael) Griswold and your cousins, Bodhi and Marley Godar & Meredith Griswold.
We will celebrate your life on Friday August 28th, by gathering as family and friends and offering prayers at your gravesite at Saint Joseph Cemetery. A procession will form at the Rapid Run Gate of the cemetery (near Rapid Run and Benz Avenue) at 10:15 AM. All are welcome to attend.
Nelly will know she has a little sister in heaven. She will know about the baby who made Mom and Dad’s hearts so full.
We cannot wait until we can hold you again.
Our daughter, our angel, and Nelly’s little sister. Forever our Teddy🤍
