Obituary

Sylvester V. "Vic" Holt, born April 9, 1941, in London, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, in Bridgetown, Ohio, surrounded by loved ones. Sylvester (Vic) lived a vibrant and richly textured life, cherished by his family and friends, and will be remembered for the warmth and joy he brought into every room.

Vic’s zest for life was apparent to all who knew him. He found immense pleasure riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, an activity that embodied his free spirit and sense of adventure. Possessing a deep admiration for muscle cars—especially Chevrolets, and never Fords—he could often be found reminiscing about classic cars with a gleam in his eye and a joke on his lips.

Music formed a joyful chorus in Vic's days; he loved to sing, dance, and fill the air with melodies and laughter. Gatherings with family and friends were among his greatest joys. His fondness for sharing time, whether through boisterous storytelling or simply enjoying each other's company, has left a lasting legacy of love and togetherness.

Vic was known for his fun-loving and spirited personality. He delighted in being silly, loud, and playful, drawing everyone around into his infectious humor. He was genuinely a great man, adored by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his presence was always marked by laughter and kindness.

Sylvester (Vic) is survived by his devoted daughters: Theresa Holt, Jeannie (Kevin) Deinlein, and Lynn (Terry) Mounce; his loving sons: Charlie Holt, Dayrl Morris, and Steve Morris; as well as a large and affectionate extended family including his grandchildren: Rob Jr., Carlessa (Chris), Kevin Jr., Brittney (Brian), Thomas (Katrina), Heather (Timmy), Lexi (Alex), Charlie Jr., Terry Jr., Chandler (Kenna), Josh, Chaz, and Chad. He leaves behind 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends, all of whom will miss him profoundly.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Birdie Hubbs Haugen; his father, Charlie R. Holt; and his sisters, Peggy Westerfield and Janie Roberts. Their memories no doubt provided him comfort throughout his life.

The memory of Vic’s fun-loving nature and boundless energy will continue to inspire his family and friends. As they remember his jokes, his verve for life, and his love of music and laughter, they celebrate the legacy of a man who truly made the world brighter for those around him.

Details for Vic's Celebration of Life Service will be shared at a later date, but those who knew Sylvester V. "Vic" Holt should cherish the wonderful times shared and the love that endures.
