Patricia L. Collopy, née McGinnis, was born on December 17, 1926, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and passed away in Cincinnati on October 19, 2026. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and housewife whose life was centered on family, celebration, and the joy of being together.

Patricia attended Seton High School and built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and welcome. She had a bubbly spirit and a sarcastic sense of humor that brought life to every gathering. She loved gardening, dance, parties, and party planning, and she especially delighted in holidays, vacationing, and attending the theater and school plays. The memories her family holds most closely are of their many gatherings together and the holiday parties she loved to host at her home, where her gift for making others feel included and cherished was on full display.

Among the things Patricia treasured most were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her proudest accomplishment and a lasting source of joy. Her family was the heart of her life, and she took deep happiness in seeing it grow across the generations. During the years when her husband served in the Navy, that same strength and devotion helped shape the loving home and family life for which she will long be remembered.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Peggy (Mark) Ertel and Nancy (Steve) Wolfer and her son, James Collopy; and by a large and loving family of grandchildren, including Erich (Mayumi) Recker and Doug (Donna) Recker, Matt Botuchis, Christopher (Jena) Ertel, Kimberly (Jeff) Dietz, Jamie Lanham, Amanda (Jason) Rhinderle, Jake (Amy) Wolfer, and Alyson (Justin) Schultain. She also leaves behind twenty-one cherished great grandchildren, loving nieces, nephews and many friends. Their shared memories of holidays, celebrations, school events, and time spent together stand as a beautiful reflection of the love she gave so freely.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James J. Collopy; her daughter, Kathleen Botuchis. Their memories remained part of the family story she carried with her throughout her life.

Visitation will be held on September 24, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 3450 Lumardo Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45238, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Patricia’s life was a blessing to her family. She leaves behind the enduring example of a woman who loved deeply, celebrated fully, and made every holiday, every gathering, and every ordinary day feel a little brighter.
