Obituary

Margie L. Garbsch, born on January 2, 1941, in Caryville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 19, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a cherished matriarch whose love and devotion to her family defined her life.

Margie took great pride in being a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom. Later in her career, she worked at JC Penney until her retirement, when she dedicated herself to helping watch and raise her grandchildren. Her family was her world, and she was deeply devoted to them, both in Cincinnati and Tennessee. She enjoyed countless joyous moments with her three children: Ken (Margaret) Garbsch, Karen (Ken) Weiskittel, and Kelli (Jerry) Wuestefeld. Margie's love also extended to her grandchildren: Claire (Carl) Lengerich, Ellen, Grace & Max Garbsch, Tyler (Lindsey) Weiskittel, Hannah (Corey) Wimmer, Brittany (Mike) McKinney, and Brandon Wuestefeld. She was a proud great-grandmother to Graham Lengerich, Sophia McKinney, Ethan and Noah Weiskittel, and Tatum and Reese Wimmer.

In addition to her familial devotion, Margie cherished her leisure time. She loved to share special moments with her sisters, daughters and grandchildren, going shopping, hosting tea parties, spa days, and sleepovers. She made birthdays memorable with one-on-one outings for each grandchild. Margie's warmth extended beyond her immediate family; she shared many happy hours playing cards and games with her sisters and family, and enjoyed annual gatherings, including the Burress Family Reunion at Cove Lake State Park and "Sisters Day." Margie also delighted in traveling across the United States and Germany with her late husband, Horst D. Garbsch.

Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Horst D. Garbsch, as well as her parents, Cordellia and Floyd Burress. She was also predeceased by her siblings: Jeanetta Stewart, Ralph Burress, Jane Ward, Myra Queener, and James Ed Burress, and Steve Burress.

Her legacy is one of family love and connection, one that will carry on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Margie L. Garbsch will be lovingly remembered for her nurturing spirit, her laughter, and the many lives she touched during her time with us.
