Louis H. Henzi, a man renowned for his dedication to his career, his love for family, and a life rich with varied interests, passed away on June 12, 2026, in Dillsboro, Indiana. Born on March 20, 1934, in Camp Washington, Ohio, Louis lived a life marked by commitment, education, and heartfelt devotion to those he cherished most.
Louis’s professional journey was distinguished and impactful. He devoted nearly 30 years to the Drackett Company, where his unwavering commitment and expertise left an indelible mark. He contributed his talents to the Fernald Site, working as a chemist during the uranium processing years working to keep America safe—a testament to his enduring dedication to significant and meaningful work.
Outside the professional arena, Louis was affectionately known as “Grandpa Fries” to his great grandchildren, a nickname highlighting the special bond he shared with them. His family was the cornerstone of his happiness, and he found immense joy and fulfillment in the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His loving survivors include his daughters Deborah L. (Gene) Flannery and Rachel A. Henzi (Bobby Ray Roark), his son Louis H. (Diane) Henzi, and a cherished group of grandchildren: David Baer, Derek Baer, Emily (Tim) Moser, Sarah (Rob) Zehnder, Katelyn (Anthony) Nierlich, Joseph Henzi, and Sadie Antunes. His legacy also continues through his great-grandchildren Dylan, Mila, Ethan, Amira, Everett, Finley, Avery, Ben, and Sophie. Alongside his immediate family, Louis is remembered fondly by his loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Louis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley M. Henzi (nee Thrasher); his grandson, Frankie Antunes; and his sisters, Louise Bertram, Vera Bridges, and Gladys Braun. Their memories remain a precious part of his life’s story.
A man of diverse passions, Louis delighted in fishing, photography, marksmanship, gardening, and the occasional round of golf.
A visitation in honor of Louis H. Henzi will be held on Thursday June 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, located at 2880 Boudinot Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45238. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
Louis H. Henzi’s life was defined by steadfast devotion—to his profession, his family, and his passions. His memory endures as an inspiring example of dedication and love, leaving an indelible imprint on all who knew him.
