IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen Mae
Dewey
August 15, 1944 – December 26, 2025
Kathleen Mae Dewey, lovingly known as Kathy, was born on August 15, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family and fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church.
Kathy was a remarkable individual whose life epitomized resilience, generosity, and unwavering faith. A proud graduate of Central High School, she dedicated her career to various fields, but she found her true calling in activism and rescue work, particularly in her passionate fight to save babies from abortion. Following the loss of her husband, Jack Dewey, in 1986, Kathy devoted herself to supporting her loved ones, including her children and grandchildren, with unmatched determination. Her leadership in local rescue operations made a significant impact, with many babies saved, showcasing her incredible commitment to a cause she held dear.
Her dynamic personality, characterized by confidence and inspiring leadership, motivated those around her. Friends and family will remember Kathy as the most generous soul—if you needed something and she had it, it was yours without hesitation. Her ability to remain composed and steady while confronting challenging situations, including press inquiries, was a testament to her strong character.
Kathy's loves extended beyond her activism. She enjoyed vintage movies and music, finding delight in the sounds of the 40s, 50s, and non-rock songs from the 60s. Her remarkable ability to recognize any voice or music style provided her with great joy and enriched her interactions with many.
Kathy is survived by her loving daughters Angela (Troy) Long and Michelle (Dennis) Marksberry, her siblings Joanne (Dan) Engel, Judy (Gene) Doll, Rosemary (David) Callahan, James Breadon, Virginia (Al) Eggleston, Sue (William) Weitzel, Joe (Donna) Breadon, and Tom (Dona) Breadon. She also leaves behind a cherished legacy through her grandchildren Kathy, Rachel, Andrea, P.J., Kristen, Jason, and Ayla, along with 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Dewey, son William, granddaughter Samantha, and her siblings Christine, Marilyn, John, and Michael Breadon, as well as her parents Mae and John Breadon.
A Mass in her honor will be held at St. Lawrence Church located at 3680 Warsaw Ave, Cincinnati, OH, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM.
