John Rockwell, a beloved member of the Price Hill community and a retired United States Postal Worker, passed away suddenly at his home on March 23, 2026. Born on August 8, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, John lived his entire life rooted in the city he cherished deeply.
John faithfully served his country as a Military Policeman in the United States Army, demonstrating commitment and honor that carried through all aspects of his life. Following his military service, he devoted many years to his career with the United States Postal Service, where he earned respect for his dedication and hard work.
Those who knew John remember him for his warm spirit and his passions that brought joy to his everyday life. A lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds as well as the Cincinnati Bengals, John found pleasure in the unique taste of Skyline Chili, but the way to his heart was with anything chocolate and the more the more chocolate the better! John was also avid train lover and life-long member of the Cincinnati Railroad Club. A season ticket holder of The Aronoff Center for the Arts, The Incline Theater and The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, John enjoyed entertainment.
John was preceded in death by his father, William Rockwell; his mother, Alberta Rockwell (nee Fisbeck); and his beloved, each of whom holds a cherished place in his memory.
He is survived by Cynthia Tenhundfeld, a beloved friend who stood by him and who now mourns his loss alongside all who loved him.
Visitation will be held on April 2, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home located at 2880 Boudinot Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45238. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the same location. At 2:00 PM, a Military Honors Service will take place at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3117 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45206, where John will be laid to rest.
