Obituary

Gregory A. Kuertz, a devoted father, proud grandfather, and beloved member of the Cincinnati community, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on July 30, 1952, in Cincinnati, Greg lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to family, career, and a spirit of generosity that touched all who knew him.

Greg studied accounting at the University of Cincinnati, later earning his Bachelors of Business Administration degree from the Memphis State University. His professional life was distinguished by his work as an accountant, followed by a successful second career as the co-owner of Crow's Nest with his brother Bill, a beloved local bar. Among his proudest accomplishments were becoming a father and grandfather, achieving a hole-in-one at Aston Oaks, graduating college, and owning this cherished establishment.

Known for his easy-going, loyal, and dependable nature, Greg was a man of laughter and life. He was famous among family and friends for his quick wit and memorable "one-liners." Greg’s love of music, concerts, and history brought joy to his life, as did his passion for golf, movies, travel, and the company of his dogs, Carma and Yukie. He never missed an opportunity to tee off on the golf course and was always ready for a good time and adventure. Above all, Greg treasured his family deeply and was the best "pee-paw" anyone could ask for, especially to his grandson Theodore DiSanto.

Greg is survived by those who carry forward his legacy of love and laughter: his daughter Margaret Kuertz and son-in-law Cody DiSanto; his son Michael Kuertz; his step-daughter Heather Lytle; his sisters Jenny Ginocchio and Karen Travis with brother-in-law Ken Travis; his brothers Mark Kuertz (and sister-in-law Kim), William Kuertz, Joseph Kuertz, and Christopher Kuertz (and sister-in-law Tammy); and his treasured grandson Theodore DiSanto. They, along with his Sigma Chi fraternity brothers and many friends, hold dear the moments shared with Greg and the indelible mark he has left on their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Merita Kuertz; his brother-in-law James Ginocchio; and his parents Leonard and Elizabeth Kuertz (née Robertson).

Friends and family are invited to honor Greg's memory through visitation on March 19, 2026, from 5:00 PM until the Sigma Chi White Rose Ceremony, which will begin at 7 PM.  All events Thursday will be held at The Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home 2880 Boudinot Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45238. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 20, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1175 Overlook Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45238.

Gregory A. Kuertz will be remembered for his humor, his generosity, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved. His story will live on in every shared tale, every concert attended, every golf game played, and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
