Ernest "Ernie" Charles Damico, a beloved and respected figure known for his warmth and outgoing nature, passed away on April 5, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on June 17, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ernie lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a genuine joy for the simple pleasures of life.
A proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Ernie embarked on a distinguished career as a mechanical engineer before retiring from the Internal Revenue Service. His professional journey reflected his commitment to excellence and his steadfast work ethic. Beyond his career accomplishments, Ernie served with honor in the United States Army and the Army Reserves, a testament to his patriotism and sense of duty.
Ernie was much loved for his personality; he was one of the nicest and most outgoing people you could meet. His easy smile and friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Leisure time found Ernie on tennis courts and golf courses, where he delighted in the camaraderie and sport. He also had a deep appreciation for music, particularly jazz and the blues, which filled many of his moments with joy and relaxation.
He is survived by his sister, Rose Henley, along with his niece, Jenny Henley, nephew Thom Henley and his wife Sara, great-niece Amelia Henley, and great-nephew Jordan Riojas. Ernie was also cherished by numerous extended family members and friends who hold him dearly in their hearts.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest V. and Jean Damico, who nurtured in him the virtues of hard work and kindness that defined his life.
Ernest "Ernie" Charles Damico’s legacy is one of warmth, service, and an enduring zest for life. He will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
