Obituary

Edward "Eddie" L. Meister, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a shining light to those who were privileged to know him, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, at his residence in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on December 4, 1931. Eddie was a man who lived a full and remarkable life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Eddie's journey began in an orphanage, where he forged a bond with Mary, the love of his life and his best friend. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey that lasted for an extraordinary 83 years, culminating in 76 years of marriage. Their love was a testament to resilience and devotion, inspiring all who witnessed their connection.

A skilled craftsman, Eddie found joy in woodworking, creating pieces that would become treasured family heirlooms. He also delighted in building and flying model airplanes, a hobby that took flight alongside his passion for music. An accomplished accordion player, he filled many rooms with the warm sounds of his performances. On quiet evenings, he could often be found on his patio by the fire, reflecting on life and cherishing time spent with loved ones.

Eddie valued family above all else. He took immense pride in spending time with them, especially during holiday gatherings and family get-togethers. His joyous spirit and welcoming nature made him a central figure in the hearts of his family, who will forever hold on to the beautiful memories they created together.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Meister; his sons, Terry Meister, Larry (Diane) Meister, Gary (Nina) Meister, Jeff (the late Tina) Meister, and Greg (Pam) Meister; and his daughter Sandy (Joe) Schmidt. He was a cherished grandfather to 18 wonderful grandchildren and adored great-grandfather to 38 great-grandchildren. Eddie's family was the cornerstone of his life, and his love for them knows no bounds.

He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews. Eddie joins in eternal rest alongside his dear brother Ray Meister, his sister Laura Berning, his brother Don Meister, and his sister Shirley Doss.

Eddie Meister's legacy will remain in the hearts of many, a reminder of the beauty of love, the joy of family, and the warmth of a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Private funeral services will be held with his family.
