Donald Edward Osterfeld passed away on September 10, 2026, in Green Township, Ohio. He was born on April 2, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, collector, traveler, and a man whose life was marked by steadfast dedication to both family and community.

Donald gave 56 years of service to Kroger, where he worked as a meat cutter. His long career reflected a remarkable work ethic and a deep sense of commitment. Outside of work, he cultivated many lasting interests. He collected stamps, historic military items and literature, and built an extensive art collection. He also shared a love of travel with his wife, Ann. Together they visited every continent and all but five states in the United States, creating memories across the world through their journeys.

He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. His commitment to fellow veterans continued throughout his life. Donald was the original commander and a founding member of the Delhi Township Veterans Association, and he was also a member of the American Legion Post 534. These roles reflected his enduring patriotism and his desire to serve others beyond his years in uniform.

Above all, Donald was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Osterfeld (nee Iut); his daughter, Lorie Duffy, and her husband, Mike. He also leaves his grandson, Shane Duffy, and Shane’s partner, Cameron Perry, his grandson Conner Duffy and granddaughter Sara Duffy. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews and friends. The love he shared with his family was a defining part of his life, and his presence will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by those closest to him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Osterfeld; his father, Harold Osterfeld; and his brother, Dennis (Carol) Osterfeld.

Visitation will be held on Friday September 18, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, 2880 Boudinot Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45238. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens Cemtery.

Donald Edward Osterfeld leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, service, curiosity, and love. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
