It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dan Burt, who left us on December 9, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on January 3, 1953, in Cincinnati, Dan was a devoted Facilities Engineer, known for his dedication to his work at the Ronald McDonald House. His commitment to making a difference in the lives of others was a hallmark of his career.
Dan's personality shone brightly through his relationships with family and friends. He was a man who put family first, sharing countless memories of meaningful conversations about life, family, and sports. Many will remember the joy of gathering around a table at his favorite steakhouse, attending games together, and celebrating holidays and family gatherings filled with laughter and camaraderie. His easy-going and relaxed demeanor made him a pleasure to be around, and he had a remarkable ability to uplift those around him.
An avid drag racer, Dan could be found at Edgewater Race Track most Saturday nights, cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals, the Reds, and the UC Bearcats. These interests not only reflected his vibrant spirit but also fostered connections with many who shared in these pursuits.
Dan faced his health struggles with unwavering strength and resilience. For the last four years, he was on the kidney transplant list and underwent dialysis. Despite these challenges, his love for life remained steadfast, and he continued to inspire those who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved children, Jennifer (Matt) Lanpheare and Daniel (Jessica) Burt, and his cherished grandchildren, Shelby Lanpheare, Brooke, Danica, Caiden, and Ethan Burt. They will hold onto the memories of their father and grandfather, finding comfort in the legacy of love and joy he imparted.
Dan is preceded in death by his late wife, Shawna Burt nee O'Leary, as well as his late parents, Earl and Mary Burt, and his late siblings: Kenny Powell, Elaine Law, Jack Burt, and Scott Raisor.
Dan Burt's life was filled with love, laughter, and connection. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have known him and will be remembered for his kindness, passion for life, and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of his family and friends.
