Carol Jean Mangold, née Bruemmer, passed away peacefully in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 28, 2026, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and siblings. She was born on December 27, 1946, in Cincinnati, and throughout her life she embodied a quiet, caring spirit that left a lasting mark on all who knew and loved her.

Carol’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was raising her family. Her girlhood wish was to be a mom and to have a big family, and she was deeply grateful to have fulfilled that dream. She was, in every sense, a quintessential mother—someone who put her children before herself, made sure they were always cared for, and seemed to know what was needed before anyone else even had to ask. She offered a listening ear, non-judgmental support, and steady encouragement. Even through hardships, she persevered with strength and grace.

As a mother, grandmother, caregiver, and homemaker, Carol gave her time and heart generously. She provided childcare for more than 50 children over the years, asking for little in return so that families could afford the care they needed. That generosity reflected who she was at her core: practical, loving, and always ready to help. Her family remembers the many ways she showed her devotion, from typing 30-page school reports on a manual typewriter to making sure no one left the house without a hug and a kiss. She was also known for her wisdom in the everyday moments, from clipping coupons and scouring ads to find the best deal to making sure her family had everything they needed before venturing out for the day.

Carol found happiness in simple and meaningful pleasures. She loved reading, singing, cross-stitch, and latch hook. She treasured time with her family, especially when it meant throwing family parties, caring for babies and young children, playing board games, or sharing the warmth of home. The Christmas season was made sweeter by her baking, and some years she made well over 500 cookies to pass out to family and friends. She also enjoyed watching the birds outside her window, with hummingbirds holding a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her loving children, Brian Mangold and Susie, Sharon Wolf and David, Crista Heinrich and Mark, and Julie Camarca and Nick. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, Nathan, Kevin, Rachel, Christopher, Taylor, Jordyn, Ariana, and Grace, as well as her beloved great-grandchildren, Isabella, Celeste, Lily, and Logan. Carol is also survived by her siblings, Mary Kohler, Louis Bruemmer, Gary Bruemmer, and Linda Tipis. In each of their lives, her love will continue to be felt in the habits she passed down, the care she so freely gave, and the memories that will be treasured always.

Carol was preceded in death by her son, Edward Mangold; her mother, Margaret T. Bruemmer; her father, Louis E. Bruemmer; and her sister, Lois Sammons. She will be remembered with deep love, gratitude, and tenderness by all who were blessed to call her family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, 2880 Boudinot Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45238. A Catholic Blessing Service will take place at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by entombment at Saint Joseph Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3819 W 8th St, Cincinnati, Ohio 45205.

Carol’s life was one of steadfast love, quiet sacrifice, and enduring care. Her family will carry her love forward—in the hugs and kisses, the holiday cookies, the laughter around the table, and in the quiet ways they care for one another, just as she taught them.
