Carol Sue
Heitzler
November 12, 1945 – February 26, 2026
Carol Sue Heitzler, age 80, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, in her home in Cincinnati, Ohio, surrounded by loved ones. Born on November 12, 1945, in Cincinnati, Carol was a vibrant presence in the lives of those who knew her. Her spirit was marked by her energetic and caring personality, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
As a dedicated prior business owner, Carol was also a talented hair dresser/stylists for many years. Carol was admired for her work ethic and passion for her pursuits. Beyond her professional endeavors, she had a profound love for cooking and gardening, often showcased through her bountiful meals served at the dinner table. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and generosity, where friends and family were treated to large, home-cooked meals made by her and her sister, Jenny, who were two peas in a pod; yet Jenny predeceased her just a short time ago.
Carol's life was richly woven with cherished memories, particularly those moments spent seated around her dinner table, where laughter and stories flowed as freely as the food she prepared. Her nurturing and giving nature touched many lives, making her not only a wonderful cook but also an extraordinary step-mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her significant other, Rusty Coy, along with his daughter, Jenny Coy, and brother, Kevin Coy. Carol is also remembered fondly by her nieces, Amy Riedmiller, Tammy Chasteen, Lisa Place, Kim Moore and Megan Meyer as well as her nephews, Robby Meyer, Scott Chasteen, Mark Chasteen and Brent Chasteen. She leaves behind her brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" Meyer and sisters-in-law Carol Ashpaw and Ginny Chasteen. Her loving legacy continues through her best friends, Liz Siebert and Julie Moorman.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Heitzler, and her parents, Winnifred and Leonard Chasteen. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Jenny Meyer, Fred Chasteen, and Leonard Chasteen.
Carol Sue Heitzler’s warmth and culinary artistry and love of animals, especially her beloved Winnie, will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
